My effing God, but everybody wants to ride Grey Dawg this Thanksgiving. I am so very glad I do not work at a terminal right now, and instead work in the call center. Today was a lot quieter, but Monday was nuts! They are offering extra hours to make sure we are covering all the calls, and every available computer had a person at it that day. Big cuddly bear hugs go out to mooserat, who asked me if she could lend me some money to get me through this month and make sure I can afford my medicine and food, or as she put it, "so you don't die of starvation or blood loss." I didn't get the job. Someone with more experience got it, which is pretty much what I expected. As soon as I heard it was a $30,000 a year job, I knew I was out of my league. Not being pessimistic, just realistic. My experience and skills are worth about $20,000-$25,000 a year at this point. So, I am disappointed, but it did give me a lot more ( Read more... )

Life in general was okay today. I had to go take some MS Office tests at work to see if I am properly qualified for this job I applied for in the Safety Dept. The tests were in Access and Excel.
